Nissan Altima One of AutoTrader's "12 Best New Cars for 2019"

The 2019 New York International Auto Show generated a lot of buzz among the automakers and Nissan had its share, particularly the Nissan Altima, that was named on AutoTrader's list of the "12 Best New Cars for 2019".

AutoTrader evaluates an abundance of new vehicles every year and the Altima stood out because of its premium interior, available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, advanced VC-Turbo engine and affordable starting MSRP of only $24,000. AutoTrader editors noted, "every car on this list is completely redesigned or an all-new model for this year. They all bring something fresh and innovative compared to their competitors and all have some combination of impressive tech, surprisingly good driving dynamics, strong value or just getting the details exactly right. Altima impresses us with a premium interior that makes you feel like you're in a much more expensive car, especially in the higher trims. It also has available all-wheel drive, making it stand out compared to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Another thing that makes the new Altima special is the available VC-Turbo variable compression engine, which delivers more power when you need it and more efficiency at cruising speeds."

Available in five trim levels - S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum - all Altima models are powered by Nissan's 188-horsepower 2.5L Direct Injection 16-Valve DOHC 4-cylinder engine with available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Standard features like 8.0-inch color display with multi-touch control with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and active safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Rear Door Alert make Altima an outstanding value at each price point. For the performance driving enthusiasts, Nissan offers its advanced 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine in the Altima SR and Platinum models.

The 2019 Altima offers exclusive Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as the advanced ProPILOT Assist that utilizes a front radar sensor and camera to maintain a preset gap with the vehicles in front of you as well as remaining centered in your lane, as well as Nissan Safety Shield 360 – which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist.

"A new high-tech turbo engine, the option of all-wheel drive and a host of driver-assist features are part of the reason we added the updated Altima to our list this year," Autotrader Executive Editor Brian Moody said of the Altima.

"The all-new Altima is establishing quite a collection of important awards, including this latest high honor from Autotrader," said Scott Shirley, vice president, CMM & Marketing Operations, Nissan North America, Inc.
