July shines as Philly's month! With its pivotal role in America's birth, Philly celebrates July in style. Here are five great events for your summer festival bucket list!
Wawa Welcome America July 4th Fest
Philly does July big. As one of the original capitals of the United States, Independence Day month means many events happening all over town, but none are so big as the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Fest. This 16-day celebration ends on the Fourth with a massive free concert and a stunning fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Before the main event, the festival fills 16 days with numerous performances, celebrations, and activities. Highlights include free admission to 40 museums and attractions, a block party celebrating Freedom Day outside the African American Museum of Philadelphia, the cherished annual Wawa Hoagie Day at Independence Mall, and much more.
Red, White, and Blueberries BBQ Bash
The Red, White, and Blueberries BBQ Bash at Peddler’s Village begins as Wawa Welcome to America ends. This all-day, all-American outdoor BBQ starts on July 4th and spans four days of festivities featuring blueberry delights, live music, lawn games, pony rides, eating competitions, axe throwing, mural painting, shopping, and exceptional dining options. It's a family-friendly event not to be missed!
Reading Terminal Market Ice Cream Festival
Cool down this summer with a sweet treat at Reading Terminal Market’s Ice Cream Festival on Filbert! This outdoor, high-energy event draws locals and tourists alike to the heart of Center City on July 13th to celebrate local artisanal ice cream and Bassetts Ice Cream. Come for the ice cream, stay for the entertainment with a full day of activities, demonstrations, and live music from 12 PM to 4 PM.
